DCH India is a group promoted by Karuna Muthu, an overseas citizen of India, based in New Zealand. Karuna Muthu is currently a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Wine Academy of India is part of DCH India.

Karuna Muthu believes the time is ripe for bringing “the wine knowledge” to India. He wants to impart this knowledge to young Individuals who aspire to be in hospitality Industry. They can benefit by adding Wine knowledge to their skill sets that will open the doors to global opportunities.

Chinmaya Arjun Raja, Director - WAI

Chinmaya is passionate about wines. He loves French wines and French Wine traditions. He aims to educate Indians about the appreciation of wines and moderate wine drinking. He has visited many wineries, interacted with winemakers, participated in wine harvesting, attended tasting sessions all over France, Germany and Napa Valley in the USA for the last one decade.

His favourite Wines currently are from the Loire valley and Burgundy regions of France. Chinmaya is the current President of the Alliance Francaise of Madras. Chinmaya has been organizing wine appreciation and tasting sessions through Chennai Wine Club – , a forum which he founded in the year 2007. Chinmaya is keen to match wines for Indian Vegetarian cuisine.
